Doug Reim: Bad Design

Honestly, in an age when it's increasingly harder to find nice furniture in stores, couldn't those manufacturers online plan their product a little more intelligently This chair is too LOW More a kid size, 10 short, than adult size. Then it's too deep and, with the squat short legs, it makes it disproportionate and awkward to sit on. I can understand now the need for that back cushion. And then the fabric design is not in the middle, it's pulled up at one corner and it looks so wonky that it makes it weird to look at every day. I gave it a 2 star because the wood was just so-so, not major issues, though the carving was mediocre. The only good thing is the easy assembly, good instructions and all the parts easy to use. Except that mine was a re-packed item, so some of the washers were missing. But it goes to show how we've been educated to accept poor quality merchandise that we can shrug that off as unimportant. In the end I was faced with a decision, either to spend a lot more for a custom chair, or put up with this one...so I returned it as soon as I could.
