I have the V2 version which I use as my racing flats for 5K 10K races. I found the V2 to be low around the ankle so I was pleased to see that this new version-V3- is a little higher up and snug around the ankle. With that said I do not like the new tongue. The end curls inwards so when you slide in your feet you need to waste time grabbing the tongue and pulling it outwards. Don t know how NB didn t see this. It is important to me because I am a triathlete so I must remove the shoe and then put it back on from bike to run. Since I use bungee laces I don t have time to be wasting trying to get the tongue pulled out. For a pure running shoe it is ok if you use regular laces. Now this new version V3 the sole is thicker and heavier. The overall shoe is about 6 7 oz heavier. It states on the NB website that they did add more cushioning to the shoe. At 8.1 oz I wouldn t call this a racing flat anymore but maybe a good tempo shoe. But for those who want a little cushioning its ok, still light. Now I have only tried it a couple of times on the treadmill and they seem ok. I have tried at different speeds and have felt no hot spots developing. I have worn my thin racing socks while I did this. Next step will be at the track and see how it feels. I still haven t done a run without socks for triathletes so I have no opinion on whether the shoe will create hot spots or rub against the bare foot. Otherwise the fit is just right not loose. Probably with thick socks too tight. I will update this review at a later date.Read full 92 ratings for New Balance Men s M1500v3 Running Shoe at Amazon Reviews
