No doubt, this is an excellent overall knife design. It is a nice, beefy drop point with a flat grind so that it has plenty of strength but at the same time a thinner edge for slicing. Action is smooth, and the blade is centered. Overall, it is a tank of a design and is probably my favorite of the Lionsteel folders. However, I am not a fan of the Sleipner steel. The steel is very tough, and holds an edge well, but on hot days in the pocket, perspiration starts to cause the blade to rust. I find this to be unacceptable in a folding pocket knife which will live in that perspiration filled sauna which we call a pants pocket. Salt spray from the ocean also caused rust spots. I ve tried putting a patina on it, and keeping a layer of oil or CLP on it which helps. However, I don t feel that a EDC should require that much maintenance on a medium grade knife steel like Sleipner. I m betting Sleipner would be an excellent steel for large fixed knives that need a lot of shock absorption, but certainly not in a folding knife. LionSteel should have made this knife in a steel like S30V, S35VN, or CTS-XHP. LC200N would have been quite interesting too.Read full 3 ratings for KUR Linerlock Black at Amazon Reviews
