Customer reviewsCool desk, assembly nightmare.
Ordered this desk for my daughters room for a space to do her cyber school work. She's loves its appearance and design, but it was one of the worst furniture assembly experiences ive ever had. The hardware for assembly came mislabeled and was contradictory to the instructions. Using the numbered hardware as described led to damaging the particle board, as the screws were too long and punctured the finish on the visible side. Backing the screws out after checking that I did have the screw that were labeled to go into the screw holes, 4 times damaged the plastic screw thread receivers, and pulled them from their holes. I had to cut the plastic pieces off with utility knife while someone else held the piece up, because it was impossible to unattached the pieces after they threaded with the plastic. Ended up having to fill the holes with wood glue, let set for two days, drill pilot holes, and fill with silicone window glaze/ tub sealant, in the holes to cure and stabilize the hard ware in the damaged holes. Additionally, placing the glass top and attaching it was extremely difficult in general, extra hard with one person trying to hold up the glass, and find the holes to line up the tiny hardware and the glass, with your arm jammed into the desk opening. After about 20 mins of frustration, and having some one then hold the glass for me, I realized the threading was reversed on the hardware. Additionally the instructions would have been helpful to denote that securing the screw on the side of each metal leg to the desk frame first, prior to the two on the top of each, is the only way to get the two top screw holes to line up properly, with the extra tension from the side being secured. would have saved me at least an hour of frustration.
