The Wharncliffe blade makes for an excellent general purpose utility knife. From handymen requiring a quick and easy go to tool on the job to office staff opening up a box, the Wharncliffe blade is the knife of choice. This blade is great for cutting and has a finer edge point for increased control. The blade excels in box-cutter type chores and is great for opening envelopes.

The Spear blade is symmetrically shaped with a point that is in line with the center of the blade. This blades sharp point provides strength, durability, and ease of use. It effortlessly pierces and stabs while its small cutting edge can slice through objects.

The Pen blade is similar to a spear point or drop point blade but is much smaller. The pen blade is great for small detailed uses, especially for everyday use such as opening envelopes and boxes.

Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel SS is a special high-carbon steel that helps the blades hold an edge. It also offers extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance.

Chrome Vanadium CV blades are known for their edge-holding ability and easy re-sharpening. However, they are less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel. We recommend keeping a thin film of oil on the blade to maintain the finish.

Blades are honed at an inclusive angle of 35 – 45 from the factory. Maintaining a constant angle, hold the blade 17 – 22 from the surface of a sharpening stone and stroke the blade as if shaving a thin layer from the stone. Repeat the stroking motion along the entire edge of the blade starting at the blade heel and working to the tip. Turn the blade over and repeat the process.

Using a small drop of oil, wipe down the joints, blades, and handles. The inside of knife can be cleaned with cotton-tipped swabs and wooden tooth picks. To remove any adhesive tape on your knife, apply nail polish remover or lighter fluid to a soft cloth to easily remove the residue. Rusting may occur to older knives. Rust spots on older knives should be oiled well and the knife should be allowed to sit for a few days. Carefully, scrape away the rust spot with the tip of a sharp, stiff knife.

Case Honing Oil.

This honing oil is made especially for re-sharpening knives. The main features of this honing oil are 1 protect the sharpening stone, 2 carry away debris, and 3 produce a keen edge on a metal blade such as a knife.
